Summersville WV Mural Project Part1 “Welcome to Summersville”——
The 1st of 2 walls (totaling over 2800 square feet) depicting Summersville Lake, a kayaker, and a rock climber. Thanks to the City of Summersville and the folks on the mural committee there for this opportunity and being open to my ideas joining what their ideas for the image were.

For the 1st wall, I wanted it to have these larger than life scenes using a limited color palette of oranges and blues with forest green so that it pops and is easy to take in quickly. 99% of people that see the painting will be looking as they drive by on the road that kind of loops around the wall was the thought I had going into it and is the way it’s really meant to be seen.

A ton of planning and work went into this project and I hope that the community there and travelers enjoy it for years to come. The wall was very challenging to paint as the bottom half has a ledge all the way through and made up of rough stone with cinder block pillars. The really great thing about the wall is that it’s in a great location, as the road beside the wall has constant traffic and a great view point.
